TIME 2019

Procedure for participation

Mathematics educators, teachers (schools / colleges/ higher education) are invited to participate in the event. To participate in the conference, you need not to make a presentation. Simply register for TIME 2019 and attend all the talks to learn about the role of technology in Mathematics education. As a registered participant you can paticipate in the various discussions and workshops.
Registration entitles you to
• Registration kit,
• Lunch and tea twice daily from 26-28th December 2019.
• Participation in all lectures, workshops, presentations.
• Banquet dinner is charged extra (Rs. 300/= per person)



Paper presentation

An abstract of the proposal in the prescribed format indicating the topic and objective should reach the academic coordinator (see details in the format for submission) the address mentioned in the format latest by 30th August, 2019. If accepted, The complete presentation should be submitted by 30th October, 2019.

The last date of submission of abstract for paper presentation extended to 15th October 2019.


We hope to receive funding for financial assistance to teachers making paper presentations.


The themes of the conference are as follows:      
    Theme 1: Use of technology in the mathematics classroom
  •      Presentations in this strand may include the use of Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS), spreadsheets, Graphics Calculators, Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) and other software and ICT tools for teaching and learning mathematics at various levels of school or college. Emphasis must be on the use of technology for enhancing mathematics learning and also on the pedagogical issues encountered while integrating a tool in the teaching learning process.

  • Theme 2: Use of Innovative resources in mathematics classrooms
  •      Presentations in this strand may include any innovation which has had a positive impact on teaching and learning mathematics at any level, be it primary, upper primary (middle school), secondary, senior secondary or college level. Presentations on specific activities which highlight an important mathematical concept or some aspect of a topic of school mathematics and which can be conducted in a mathematics laboratory will also be welcomed.

  • Theme 3: Mathematics Modelling and Applications in School Mathematics
  •      Presentations in this strand may focus on how modelling and applications of mathematics can be included in the school curriculum to help student appreciate the relevance of mathematics to various subject disciplines and also to solve problems in real life.

  • Theme 4: Mathematics Curriculum and Assessment
  •      This strand will focus on presentations which emphasise the relevance of various topics in the curriculum and on how assessment of learning in these topics may be done through innovative means.

  • Theme 5: Mathematics in non-formal spaces
  •      This strand of the conference will focus on mathematics learnt in out-of-school settings - in informal and non-formal spaces. The nature of mathematics and mathematics learning undertaken by individuals for the purposes of personal, social, political or economic development is of interest to the field of mathematics education. Presentations in this strand may be based on efforts made by individuals as well as organisations to popularise mathematics in the community through various innovative initiatives.

All the participants will have to register for the conference. You can register for the TIME 2019 by sending your details in the registration form



Registration Fees:

  • Teacher From School/ College:
    Rs. 1500/= till 31 October 2019
    Rs.2500/= after 1st November, 2019/ On the spot

  • Non-Teachers:
    Rs. 2500/= till 31st October, 2019
    Rs. 3000/= after 1st November,2019/ On the spot

We hope (depending upon availability of funds) to support the participation of a limited number of outstation participants towards local hospitality for TIME 2019
