In this year long seminar, we plan to present several recent papers and related papers on Hilbert-Samuel polynomials of ideals in Cohen-Macaulay local rings. The following are some of the main themes :
- Depths of blow up rings and Hilbert coefficients
- Local cohomology and Hilbert coefficients
- Hilbert coefficients under monoidal transforms
- Hilbert functions of Rees algebras
- Hilbert polynomials of complete ideals
- Bounds on Hilbert coefficients
