Title: Some Results on R-subalgebras of R[X]

Abstract: If k is a field, it is well-known that (i) any k-subalgebra A of k[X] is finitely generated; and (ii) if, further, A is normal, then A is a polynomial algebra over R. In this talk we shall discuss how far the above results hold for an R-subalgebra A of the polynomial algebra R[T] over a Noetherian domain R.
