Abstract: The software GAP (Groups, Algorithms and Programming) is emerging as an indispensable tool to explore the computational aspects concerning groups and related objects. In this talk we shall get acquainted with GAP through two examples: Solving a 3 X 3 Rubik's cube - and - A problem on finite groups.
