Title: Inertias of some special matrices

Abstract: It is easy to recognise a Hermitian matrix, more difficult to test whether it is positive definite, or to find how many positive eigenvalues it has. We will discuss this problem for a special matrix, namely, the matrix [(pi+pj)r], where pi are positive real numbers and r is any real number.
