Title: On Lehmer's Problem

Abstract: We shall survey the pursuit of a solution to Lehmer's problem, suggesting a uniform lower bound for the Mahler measure of non torsion algebraic numbers, dating back to 1932. After a short presentation of what has been achieved initially, we shall concentrate on generalizations and cover what has been achieved over the last 10 years. For simplicity of the exposition, most of the lecture will be given in the mutliplicative set up.
