Title: Distinguished Representations and Geometry

Abstract: I will start with the concept of a distinguished representation, and how it is connected to questions about the geometry of hermitian symmetric domains. The relative trace formula is a natural tool to study these sorts of questions, and I wll present some results that can be obtained from it.
