Title: Physical Mathematics

Speaker: Kishore B. Marathe, City University of New York

Abstract: In recent years ideas from theoretical physics have had a major impact on geometric topology of low dimensional manifolds. It has led to many new results as well as new ways of looking at old ones. We will discuss some of these developments in this lecture. More details on these and other topics will be covered in my seminar this term.
