Speaker: Prof. Sudarshan Gurjar Title: Introduction to Symplectic Geometry Abstract: I will begin by introducing the class of symplectic manifolds and explain their connections to other well known geometric objects. In the second part of the talk, I will introduce symplectic reduction whereby one constructs symplectic quotients of symplectic manifolds under suitable actions of lie groups.
