Objective

Numerical analysis, simulation and scientific computing for the solution of partial differential equations (PDEs) using FEM and related methods have been cornerstones of applied mathematics over the last fifty years. In fact, it is well known that the study of computational methods for PDEs is extremely crucial for the development of science and technology. In the current scenario, this involves design of efficient methods and reliable algorithms which together with powerful high performance computers enable the success of the new approach to science and engineering through computational modelling and simulation. Hence it is important to have a deep understanding of the classical and new methodologies used in numerical methods. The aim of the summer school is to provide the participants with an overview of the modern techniques that allow one to address the computational challenges that are encountered in different applications. The topics in the school are aimed to cover the latest in the state of the art numerical schemes in real life applications and will be taught in English language.
